Frequently asked

Common questions.

Individual sessions are $300 for 50 minutes. The intake session (first session) is $450 for 60–75 minutes. Consultations and parent-coaching sessions are $300 for 50 minutes. Extended sessions and intensives are prorated. I keep a small number of reduced-fee slots and can offer a sliding scale based on need — please ask if cost is a barrier.

GPS is an out-of-network provider, which means you pay at the time of session and I provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for partial reimbursement. Many PPO plans reimburse 50–80% of out-of-network mental health visits — a 5-minute call to your insurer can tell you exactly what to expect.

Standard sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients meet weekly. Intensives are also available for deeper or more concentrated work. Intake sessions (the first one) are 60–75 minutes to give us time to settle in.

Online only, via secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth. I work with clients in DC, VA, MD, and NY. We'll talk about what works for you in the consultation.

We slow down. I’ll ask about what brought you here, a bit of background, and what you’re hoping changes. You don’t have to have it all figured out — “I just know I want something to feel different” is a fine starting point. We’ll also map out next steps together.

It depends on what you're working on. Some clients work with me for a few months to navigate a specific transition; others stay for years. The right answer is the one we arrive at together, and we'll check in about it regularly.

Yes — strict clinical confidentiality applies, with the narrow legal exceptions you'd expect (imminent danger to self or others, abuse of a child or dependent adult, court order). I'll walk you through these in our first session.

The free 15-minute consultation is exactly for this. Fit matters enormously in therapy, and there's no obligation. If I'm not the right match, I keep a referral list and will happily point you toward colleagues who might be.
